Create a Church, or Ministry Foundation through a Donor Advised Fund

Writing a check is the fastest way to make a donation, but it is not the only way to give and for many, it may not be the smartest way to give a gift. Your church may not have the capacity for accepting non-cash gifts. But consider this fact:

Although an estimated 90 cents out of every dollar of wealth in the world is a non-cash asset, the vast majority of ministries aren't set up to accept non-cash gifts.

Nor are they able to fully develop giving among their members or donors. They simply don't have the expertise to help their constituents give in the most effective ways - and they don't have the time or resources to develop such capabilities.

With Christian Foundation of the West behind your ministry, you can build a new foundation of giving. We enable you to create a fund that serves as a foundation-like entity. This fund, is called a Donor Advised Fund, or DAF. This allows your ministry to:

  • Accept gifts of real estate, business interests, restricted securities and other non-cash assets.
  • Recommend grants from your fund back to your ministry or to other charities.
  • Strengthen relationships with your members or donors by opening up new possibilities of giving.
  • Accomplish all of this without adding staff.
